RESTYLANE is a crystal-clear gel that is injected into the skin that produces long-lasting correction of lines, folds and wrinkles. RESTYLANE, or hyaluronic acid, is non-animal derived, biodegradable, and natural. It is injected into the skin in tiny amounts with a very fine needle, filling out lips, facial wrinkles and facial folds.

Treating folds and wrinkles

As tiny amounts of RESTYLANE are injected into the skin beneath a fold or a wrinkle, the injection produces a natural volume or "foundation" that lifts and smoothes the contours of your skin surface. Results can be seen immediately.

Restylane treatment take from 20 to 45 minutes, and cause little or no "down-time" following the procedure. If desired, a local anesthesia is used to minimize any discomfort.

The results of treatment may last from six months to one year or even more. Your age, skin type, injection technique, area injected, and muscle activity will determine the duration of your results. Since each of us has different treatment goals - your follow-up treatments are adjusted to more precisely fine tune the results you want to achieve.

For enhancing lip contours, Restylane is injected with tiny needles into your lips to accentuate pouting and fullness - thereby creating more youthful, fuller lips. In order to reduce lipstick bleed along the fine lines at the edge of your lip, Restylane may also be injected along the lip margins - which also enhances the contour.

Generally, when Restylane is injected into your lips, a nominal amount of swelling will occur following treatment. This only lasts for several days to a week. The normal results of the injections last approximately six months. In some cases, patients will be given a "tune-up" within the first month in order to enhance the results and extend the length of the fullness and contour.
